ELEMENTO IN LEGNO DURO
Il legno duro è quello delle angiosperme. Queste si trovano solitamente nelle foreste temperate e tropicali a foglia larga. Alle latitudini temperate e boreali sono per lo più caducifoglie, ma ai tropici e subtropici sono per lo più sempreverdi.
ELEMENTO IN FAGGIO
Legno molto duro e dalla venatura dritta, il faggio è spesso utilizzato nella fabbricazione di mobili, ebanisteria, utensili da cucina, manici per utensili, compensato e attrezzature sportive. Anche per strumenti musicali: utilizzato per i somiere dei pianoforti e la fabbricazione di tamburi, il faggio ha una tonalità tra l'acero e la betulla.
